About Kemorie
Hi! I’m Kemorie
While I am a Registered Social Worker and Therapist, I am first a wife and a mom. My favorite person and I have been married for over 25 years! We have three children and while I do hold and practice with a professional title, to them, I am mum, mummy, mi madda (Jamaican), “chat”, babes or wifey. I truly am grateful for all of them. I am also a daughter, sister, aunty and friend to my cherished extended family and church community.
Life happens and at the core of who I am, I believe that people were created to heal, change, grow and find answers to periods of sometimes difficult transitions and situations in their lives. This can be realized from a relationship based on trust and compassion in a space that offers safety and is free of judgment.
Sometimes, the most difficult part of the journey to wellness is taking the first step in seeking help. Reach out for a consultation to see if it feels like the right fit for you.
PROFESSIONALLY
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. I have a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of the Fraser Valley and also a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of British Columbia with a Clinical Foundation in Children and Families. I am a Registered Social Worker (#16986) through the BC College of Social Workers.
I started my journey as a social worker and social justice warrior as I worked with children, youth, individuals and families. I am a trained Therapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field.
